Cambridge Cottage #1: North Wales
The first Cambridge Cottage is the one on the island of Anglesey in North Wales that Prince William first rented when he starting working at RAF Valley as a search and rescue pilot in April 2010. The rent is reportedly 750GBP per month.
The Telegraph reports that the cottage has ‘views of Snowdonia and access to a private beach.’ The Daily Mail has described the cottage as a ‘whitewashed farmhouse’.
These pictures below are from Zimbio and suggest what the farmhouse might look like. Understandably, the actual house and grounds are under strict security so the media is barred from reporting even how many bedrooms Prince William’s cottage has.
The Daily Mail also reports that while staying at the cottage William and Kate occasionally go to local pubs and restaurants, “including the award-winning White Eagle at Rhoscolyn on the north western tip of Anglesey.” The Daily Mail reported that staff claim “Prince William usually drinks bitter, perhaps a pint or two, and Kate sticks to white wine and sparkling water” while William :seems to enjoy our home-made burgers and chips. Kate prefers fish and salads.”
Other activities in Anglesey includes hosting visitors. Pippa has visited William and Kate in Wales; the sisters were spotted walking on the beach of Llanddwyn Island on the west coast of Anglesey last August. The island is what is known as a tidal island (one that is attached to the mainland, in this case the island of Anglesey, at low tide, but becomes an island at high tide).
While in Wales Kate goes grocery shopping at the local Tesco, where she is often photographed. The Daily Mail has recently reported that she had been spotted also purchasing jam jars at a local hardware store so perhaps that is something else Kate enjoys. Here she is, heading in for some groceries just days after her wedding last April. As you may recall, this was the first time she had been publicly spotted since she got in that helicopter at Buckingham Palace the morning after the wedding:
Kate and William have also been spotted at the Cineworld in Llandudno Junction, where they watched The Inbetweeners and Bridesmaids back to back.
